Walking season is usually from early November to late May. It is a lovely way to escape the heat of the city and enjoy the fresh mountain air which is usually 10 degrees cooler than at sea level. There are also many other shorter walks within the resort area for all abilities (ranging from 2km to 20km), which means you can stay on the mountain and enjoy a bush walk among the snow gums and wildflowers, picnic for lunch and return to your accommodation in the afternoon for a relaxing evening without the need to camp out. The sunsets are incredible at 1750m!
